Spring is coming soon with the Romford Window Gardens
We are looking for small businesses, shops and care homes in Romford, Rush Green and Collier Row to join us in bringing a kaleidoscope of colour to our communities.
Local people will be able use their creative flair to make colourful flowers, plants, and creatures to display in the windows of their homes creating a collective Spring Garden for all to see.
The Romford Window Gardens is completely safe to participate in as it will be delivered remotely, in the form of online tutorials and workshops for those with access to the internet but also through creative packs and activity sheets that residents can pick up in Romford, Rush Green and Collier Row when doing their essential shopping.
Some of the workshops will be based on using basic craft materials contained in the packs, while others will look into the possibilities of using recycled materials, things that most of us use and discard, like plastic bags, packaging, or things we can find in our own larder, like pasta and dried food. In this way, everyone can participate and take their time to make their own creations.
We’re inviting shops and businesses in the heart of these communities to stock our free creative packs and activity sheets that residents can pick up when doing their essential shopping. The packs will contain basic craft items and instructions so that people without digital access to the tutorials can take part too. We’ll even support you to create your own Garden in the windows of your premises!
There is a poster and some flyers to accompany these packs, so if you really don’t have the room in store or limited space but can lend us a small space in your window, that would also be appreciated.
Care homes can receive a free box of resources and some instructions so that staff can facilitate their residents’ participation, bringing a ray of sunshine to their homes AND there is a prize on offer for the most creative and colourful displays in care home windows.
If you and your business can help us by stocking the creative packs, or you are a care home that wants to give your residents the chance to get crafty, get in touch now by calling 07394 086737 or email us: hello@haveringchanging.org
